How to store coffee so it stays fresh
Coffee goes flat quietly. Keep four things away from it (air, heat, light and moisture) and it stays fragrant to the last spoon.
In the cup: Fresh powder brews a thick, fragrant decoction. Stale powder brews thin, so you add more.
How to make it
Store it well (A minute, once)
- Seal it at once. Press the air out of the pouch and roll the top down tight, or tip the powder into an airtight steel dabba.
- Keep it dry. Always use a dry spoon. Wash the dabba and let it dry fully before you fill it.
- Keep it cool and dark. A cupboard away from the stove, not the shelf above the burner or a sunny windowsill.
- Buy what you will finish. A 250 g pack is a good start. Freshness matters more than stocking up.

What you need
- Airtight coffee jar (you will need this): Keeps air, light and damp away from your coffee between brews.
- Kitchen scale (0.1 g) (nice to have): Weigh coffee and water, so the cup tastes the same every day.

Which Kaapiswada coffee to buy
Swadamalnad (80% Arabica · 20% Chicory, 250 g): Swadamalnad is packed in a 250 g pack, sized to finish while it is fresh.
Also works: Roastswada (100% Arabica · Whole beans). Whole beans keep their aroma longer than ground coffee. Roastswada has the roast date on the pack.
Tips
- Smell it when you open the pack. If the aroma is gone, it has gone stale.

Delivery is free in Bengaluru. Elsewhere, delivery is ₹49 + GST (₹57.82 in total), shown in your bag for your pincode before you confirm.
